Retirement Plans

The market for group plans is growing at an unprecedented pace. In fact, more and more companies believe that a high-quality group insurance attracts qualified resources and keeps them with the company. 

Our Group Plans

Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan

  • Simply put, a group RRSP is a group of individual RRSPs that members (employees) can contribute to through payroll deductions. Plan members get an immediate tax savings, since the contributions are deducted from the employee’s income before the taxes are calculated.

Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)

  • A DPSP allows employees to share in the company’s profits. It can be set up as a separate plan or it can complement a group RRSP.

Simplified Pension (SIPP)

  • The SIPP is a plan in which all amounts contributed to the plan can only be used for retirement. The SIPP offers tax benefits. The contributions made to the plan are tax deductible and do not incur payroll taxes.

Voluntary Retirement Savings Plan (VRSP)

  • The VRSP: Mandatory for employers in Quebec
  • Employers who have at least 5 employees are required to offer a VRSP. The employer’s obligations take effect gradually, based on the number of employees enrolled in the plan. The first mandatory effective date is December 31, 2016, unless the employer already offers all employees the possibility of contributing to a retirement savings plan through payroll deductions;
  • The Voluntary Retirement Savings Plan (RVSP) Act entered into effect on July 1, 2014.

Individual Pension Plan (IPP)

  • An IPP is a defined benefit pension plan designed to provide members with a stable income stream in retirement. The IPP is an alternative retirement savings vehicle that provides greater tax benefits and higher pension payments than RRSPs. The IPP is ideal for the key people in an organization, independent professionals or business owners.
